COVID-19 Update – March

March 12, 2020

Based on today’s directive from Governor Jay Inslee to close all public and private K-12 schools in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties, and in an effort to control the spread of Coronavirus, NWAC has decided to follow suit and close down our facilities.

The Northwest Art Center will be temporarily closed as of Monday March 16, 2020  for all youth and teen classes. Our Studio on Main, drop in art studio, is also closed at this time. In addition, all booked parties, events, and private lessons during the closure time period will need to be rescheduled. We will re-evaluate in 3-4 weeks.

Most ongoing adult art classes will continue to run.  We will have strict health and safety guidelines.  The instructor will assess the health of each student as they come in and reserves the right to send anyone home who may appear sick.  Each adult class will be notified separately for more details.

We are exploring opportunities for students to continue to enjoy their art classes online. We are talking with teachers about the possibility of making kits and providing a private FB group with videos from our art instructors.  We will send a note via Sawyer for more information when we solidify our plans over the next few days.

Thank you for your support of our small non-profit during this difficult time. We are doing our best to provide our students with enriching art opportunities while our physical space is closed.  We appreciate all of you and we hope to be able to weather this unprecedented time as we may have to remain closed for up to 6 weeks.

We would love to point out that we have our Summer camps online now and it’s a great opportunity for you to plan ahead!

Be sure to Follow us on Facebook for NWAC and for Studio on Main so that you are staying up to date with the latest news.

Wishing you and your family wellness and creativity!

Sincerely,

Alison Hawkins and Pamela Martin

Co-Executive Directors
