Heather was 15 the first time she tried throwing on an old kick wheel and from there she went on to take ceramics classes in college. In addition to taking classes, she helped run the Merrill Pottery Co-op while attending UCSC.

Heather discovered the Northwest Art Center when her family moved to Duvall in 2016. The thing she loves most about teaching ceramics is the immense amount of creativity that students bring to class!
